It's Hari Raya.
We celebrated it with our good friend in our Home Sweet Home, Bdr Mahkota Cheras. We prolonged our celebration until the next morning in the Iris Studio. It was not just Hari Raya, for me it was more into the celebration of friendship. Singing together with guitar plucking, live recording, drinking, eating, sharing jokes ... life rocks when friends around!
Thanks bala kaban for your presence : Khel, Tika, Emelda, Delin, Degor, Agus, Wes, Imelda, Larry, Ciciy and the other AKS's staff.

It was Prom Party Night in Anak Kampung Borneo Pub & Bistro (AKB) and we came to accompany our friend, Khel, since others were camping in Sg Congkak. Khel was announced as the Mr Prom Party 2014 of AKB.

Last minute call urged us to rush to Hitz Borneo, Sri Rampai after finished at Signature of the Roof. It was an open house event in Hitz Borneo. It was late, but the supportive crowds still there waiting for the band to arrive.
I enjoyed the drink & music with my nephew, Glen while watching Andy & friends performed on stage.

Facts about Mr Andy vs Dewa Budjana
Year 2007 :
Claimed himself as the No. 1 fan of Paul Gilbert. He used to dreamed of this guitar at night, and of course, daydream of it and imagine himself holding it by facing the big mirror. Watched Paul's technique and practiced a lot. Heck, we bought the signatured guitar by Paul Gilbert and cheap headphone completed the collection. Struggled with life as a musician and a father, at that time, having too little means so much. - But today those memories are priceless to us.
Year 2014 :
Claimed to every musician he met as his Idol, hehe. I believe, this is the humble way how he respects others. Godin is always his No. 1 weapon. Today, it is not the cost of a guitar that worries him nor how good is his guitar technique. Well, let me tell you guys a funny secret about this guy: his major concern before, during and after the show is his HAIR, how is that??! Until 1 day I was speechless when he saw his own photo in Berita Harian, recently & said confidently in front of me, "I look like Dewa Budjana". I thought because Gigi band inspires his music... it was the hair that make him Dewa Budjana.
Hair is part of his musicianship. Damn!
My Sulu, I always tell you romantic moment happens when it involves YOU, ME and the GUITAR. Trust me now?!!!

Signature is a stylish and trendy premium gastro-lounge. If you are looking for classy experience of social gatherings, this club is should be in your list. The menu is a motley mix of Asian and international fusion cuisine. Signature is located at the Sky Level,1 First Avenue, Bandar Utama.
Reason to visit: fantastic views & good-looking food
Reason not to visit: expensive !!!

Accompanying Andy at Soju club as he replaced the guitairist of Mad August. We met our old friend, Peter, the male singer of Mad August.
Soju Kuala Lumpur is the music club, gets the name from a popular distilled beverage brand in Korea. Soju KL is located behind Federal Hotel and just beside of Low Yat Plaza Bukit Bintang.
Chill out at Soju as early from 7pm for live band and party with the resident & guest DJs until closing time at 3am.

City Escape Day @ Sg Congkak

It was a public holiday ... Nuzul al-Quran, and it was a city escape day for us.
We spent our short holiday with our BFFs, went for a picnic at Sungai Congkak : BBQ, eating, drinking, sharing jokes, picnicking, singing & playing guitar.
What a miracle ... I met our old school mate, Jamal Bol who joint us here today. The reunion made me realize that there were 4 Bidayuh buddies in the forest that day.
Sungai Congkak is a popular recreational forest in the Hulu Langat, located 33km away from the city, an ideal gateway for those who want to experience the great Malaysian outdoors. It is also known as Chongkak Park and Resort and is managed by Tourism Selangor. Activities and facilities here include camping, picnicking, BBQs and bathing in the clear cool water of natural river pools and rapids amid the tall tropical rainforest trees.

Belated Birthday at AKB

We went to Anak Kanpung Borneo Pub & Bistro (AKB) at 2 am in the morning to join our BFFs 'lepak2' here. Our friend Larry & Ciciy, who are also the staff of AKB sent request to the band on stage to greet Andy & I with a Happy Birthday song. We were called to be on stage as an honour for drink a toast. By the way, it was a belated birthday for both of us.
Located at Taman Segar Perdana, Cheras, AKB was founded in Nov. 25, 2012. The name "Anak Kampung Borneo" inspired by the Sabah & Sarawak people who come to Semenanjung Malaysia and most of them are from "kampung2".
For me, AKB is not just a small club to drink & get drunk... I look at it as a place to celebrate friendship, as we did today.
