Borneo Hornbill Festival (BHF) has been running ethnic pageant since 2009, by Persatuan Warisan Sarawak, KL. The theme for BHF 2014 is "Biodiversity and Cultural Diversity". This year, this event was organized at Auditorium Tun Dr Siti Hasmah, Level 10, Menara SSM, KL Sentral, 21 - 22 June, 2014.
BHF aims to be more than a cultural platform. They emphasize on the acquisition of knowledge as a way of gaining self confidence.
Miss ethnic pageant is divided into two categories; Miss Sarawak Ethnic and Miss Sabah Ethnic. Similarly, Mr. ethnic pageant is divided into Mr. Sarawak Ethnic and Mr. Sabah Ethnic.
Miss Borneo Ethinc Pageant is the Grand Title awarded to the most deserving ethnic beauty from Sarawak and Sabah. To qualify for this title, the nominees must be crowned at their respective ethnic categories, namely Miss Ethnic Iban, Miss Ethnic Bidayuh, Miss Ethnic Orang Ulu, Miss Ethnic KadazanDusun and Miss Ethnic Sabah Open. All categories fall under either Sarawak or Sabah ethnic Categories.
Mr. Borneo Ethnic Pageant is the Grand Title awarded to the most deserving ethnic warrior from Sarawak and Sabah. To qualify for this title, the nominees must be crowned at their respective ethnic categories, namely Mr. Sarawak Ethnic and Mr. Sabah Ethnic.
